Glenn Ivens

1967-01-25 2014-10-15

It is with a heavy heart and a huge sense of loss that a good man was taken too early.

Glenn was born in Victoria on January 25, 1967, and passed on October 15, 2014.

Glenn grew up in Victoria and played many sports throughout his life, hockey, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, football, and golf. Glenn was an avid photographer and loved shooting his sporting events for ISN, especially Velox Valkyries and Mariner’s baseball.

Glenn leaves behind his mother Elaine, sisters Leslie and Marcie (Ted), nephews, Lee and Mark, great nieces and nephews, and many loving cousins. Glenn has gone to meet his Dad, Ralph who passed in 1989.

Glenn had many friends from all different walks of life and will forever be remembered for pulling a good prank and just making you laugh. He was an Electrician by trade and did his apprenticeship through IBEW Local 230 and Canem Systems. Glenn worked at the Times Colonist for the past 20 years and will be missed by many close friends and colleagues.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. David E. Bell for being the person you are and a great friend for years.

Glenn, we will love you forever and know that you are with Dad and the “3 Amigos” again.

A Celebration of life for family and friends was held at McCall Bros, 1400 Vancouver Street, Victoria, BC on Thursday, October 23rd at 11:00 am. Glenn loved the colour purple and we ask that you wear “something” purple.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of ones choice, or Velox Women’s Rugby, 3957 Gordon Head Road, Victoria, BC.

Condolences/Memories can be offered to the family at McCall Gardens.
